We went to Japan in 1985 and served the first 26 years in the Tokyo/Yokohama area by starting churches and helping with SEND administrative leadership. After the March 11, 2011 triple disaster in Japan (earthquake, tsunami, nuclear meltdown), God led us to move to the disaster area on the Pacific coast of Tohoku (northeast Japan) to help with post-disaster recovery and long-term evangelistic ministry in cooperation with local churches. We also hosted volunteer teams that came to help.

Even though it has been over 10 years since the disaster and most communities have been rebuilt, many people are still living without hope or purpose. In cooperation with the local church, we seek to spread the good news of life, hope, and peace in the Lord Jesus through English classes, Discovery Bible Studies, discipleship groups and friendship evangelism. We also give support and assistance to our SEND co-workers in the Tohoku area.

In 2024 we plan to transition to the US to be closer to our 4 children and 12 grandchildren.
