We are missionaries in Kiev, Ukraine. Chad grew up in a Christian home on a farm in Kansas. Leanna was born and raised in a Christian home in Odessa, Ukraine. We met in 1995 in Russia while working in a leadership-training program for pastors in Central Baptist Church of Krasnoyarsk. At the time Chad was a career missionary with SEND International and Leanna was translating for American pastors teaching in the program.

In the summer of 1996, we were married and moved to the States for two years to attend seminary and to raise support to return to Siberia. Chad has a B.A in Evangelism from Moody Bible Institute and an M.A. in New Testament Theological Studies from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Leanna received training from a Bible school in Odessa, studied English in Budapest, Hungary, and received a Cambridge Certificate after studying in London, UK.

In February of 1999, we returned to Russia to work with the beginning Bible school in Central Baptist Church of Krasnoyarsk. For the next 10 years, Chad worked as coordinator, academic dean and teacher for Krasnoyarsk Bible College. During these years, Leanna worked with the development of the Sunday school program at Central Baptist Church and homeschooled our three daughters, Katrina, Anne and Jessica.

In 2009, we moved from our home in Russia to Kiev, Ukraine. Chad is SEND's Coordinator for the Development of Missions Mobilization in Ukraine and travels and teaches at various Bible schools. He works with national pastors to build awareness among churches in Ukraine for cross-cultural missions. The goal is to see many missionaries sent out from one of Europe's strongest evangelical countries to share the gospel with unreached peoples. Leanna continues to homeschool and is involved in children's ministries and outreach in church.
