My wife and I have been missionaries in Japan since 1993 (since 2002 with SEND International). Currently we are involved in training potential future missionaries through the D (Discipleship) House internship program in Obanazawa City, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. We aim to help these young people learn basic living skills in Japan, gain experience communicating with unbelievers, offer opportunities in various kinds of ministry with a focus on evangelistic outreach, introduce options for taking care of their own hearts, minds and bodies in the Japanese context, and allow them to worship with several local bodies of believers in Japan. Susan and I work with Zion Christ Church in neighboring Murayama Town and with believers living in Obanazawa to show and tell the gospel of Jesus with the people of the city of Obanazawa, a city which has no church. We have three adult children and currently three grandchildren living in North America.
