SEND's greatest and most strategic asset is its people. Throughout the missionary life, an individual encounters new cultures, new languages, new church cultures, and new problems. Even the most trained and capable missionary experiences stressors that can cause burn out, fatigue, stress, and disillusionment. The People Care and Development team, in partnership with field leadership, works to train people for the field well... and care for people when troubles arise, which they assuredly will.

The Missionary Crisis Fund exists to further empower the People Care and Development team to meet missionaries in their need. Empowerment to do everything from purchasing a transcontinental flight to meet with a missionary in crisis to gaining increased training so that our team is equipped with cutting edge tools for missionary care.

When a missionary is facing trauma, everyone feels it — including the immediate family, the area team, the growing church, and those receiving discipleship. Whether in emergency or ongoing care, the People Care and Development team is committed to advocating for its people, as the Lord leads them through the peaks and valleys of their Christian service.
