COVID-19 UPDATE

Thursday, September 17, 7:00 PM

Thank-you for your partnership in the gospel with SEND Canada, and for your support of SEND's ministries worldwide.

As we seek to make the good news of the gospel known, SEND International is committed to providing prayerful and faith-filled care of our workers around the world. In light of the continuing global concern regarding COVID-19, we are seeking to respond with grace and wisdom, considering the best interests of our members, their families and SEND ministries worldwide.

SEND leadership continues to evaluate and respond to the impact COVID-19 is having on our workers (including Canadians) who are serving short-term, medium-term, and long-term.

As part of the broader SEND International family, we are cooperating with our SEND offices and leaders around the world. Consistent with SEND’s de-centralized leadership structure, field directors and others are monitoring their local situations on a regular basis and are prepared to take further action.

Decisions and protocols are made in consultation with SEND International's Director of Security, Rich Ramirez, and in conjunction with recommendations issued by government officials and the World Health Organization. All decision-making is being led by prayerful leaders, together with counsel, as “close to the ground” as possible. SEND International’s COVID-19 Response Team (CRT) surveys members twice a month to listen to and help care for personnel.

At this time, most of our members are either in Canada or remain on the field. Some international travel is taking place after prayerful consideration. We ask you to join us in praying for the Lord’s safe-keeping and peace as our members serve in these unusual days.

As of March 25, our physical Canadian Office has been closed to guests and visitors. We have dramatically reduced our team on-site. Happily, due to remarkable technology available to us, most of our Home Office services are continuing as our team works from remote ministry locations.

SEND Canada is seeking to respond to this situation proactively, prayerfully, without fear, and with a God-honouring perspective. If you have any questions, please contact our Director of Personnel, Patrick Cavenagh, through email or by calling 1-888-918-5036 Ext 31.

We continue to ask that God will use these challenging days to accomplish His purposes and bring more precious souls to faith in Christ! As believers, we have promises of our Lord’s presence and care (2 Peter 1:3-4, Mt. 28:20), and in anxious times, His perfect peace (Phil 4):

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Thank you for joining us in prayer for wise action on the part of SEND leaders, governments and authorities, as well as medical personnel in Canada and around the world. Please also pray for the protection and clear-minded faith of our global workers who continue to share the hope of Jesus in uncertain times.

Yours Sincerely in Christ,

Rob "Mags" Magwood
