Eric & Josie

We arrived in Kyiv in 2004, eager to serve the church through theological education. After two years of Russian language study and cultural exploration, we stepped into new roles at Kyiv Theological Seminary.

In addition to teaching apologetics, theology and philosophy to undergrad students, Eric served as one of the on-site leaders of the Talbot School of Theology — Kyiv Extension. Through this program, Slavic students can earn a master's degree from Talbot (the seminary of Biola University in California) without having to move out of the Russian-speaking world.

Once the Talbot extension was ready to hand over to on-site Slavic leadership, we transitioned back to Southern California, where Eric continues to support the extension through administration and preaches and teaches at local churches. Josie writes for SEND's Communications Department and maintains

We have three sons, Dietrich, Lev and Max, who slowly but surely are adjusting to life in an English-speaking culture.
