diaspora anchorage refugee ministry
A leader to grow a ministry among the diaspora in Anchorage, Alaska.
Country: Alaska, SEND North, US (Immigrants & Refugees)
Term: Long-Term (3+ years), Mid-Term (1 - 3 years)

Anchorage has been identified as one of the most diverse cities in the US. Opportunities abound to engage immigrants, refuges, and people from unreached people groups. Although many churches exist in Anchorage, few are effectively engaging the diverse segments of the population. Additionally, Anchorage is the hub for SEND North’s village ministries among Native Alaskans. SEND North is in urgent need of someone to lead the Anchorage Diaspora Ministries Team!

  • Local Church Partnerships – Network with church & ministry leaders, mobilize church members, and train volunteers to actively engage in cross-cultural ministry with their neighbors.
  • Team Leadership – Provide vision, encouragement, and accountability to other members of SEND North’s Diaspora Ministries Team.
  • Disciple-Making Ministry – SEND North’s vision is to “Make Northern Disciple-Makers.” Our future Diaspora Ministries Coordinator will take great delight in personally investing in cross-cultural, disciple-making relationships.
Specific Qualifications:
  • Cross-cultural ministry experience, preferably in urban centers
  • A strong drive to network with God’s people across denominational lines
  • The ability to organize and teach cross-cultural ministry training events for volunteers
  • A passion for seeing people come to faith in Jesus, join in church fellowship, and become disciple-makers themselves
