Making disciples among the unreached

ESL Teacher - Central Asia

ESL teacher central asia
Teach in a local English school, and serve as available alongside the team in their local church ministry, orphan outreach, summer camps, and ESL clubs.
Country: Asia, Central Asia, Eurasia, MDE
Term: Mid-Term (1 - 3 years), Short-Term (2 weeks - 1 year)

MDE understands that English is the global business language and that many in this Central Asian country desire to learn it. Consequently, we partner with locally-owned schools by bringing in qualified, native English speakers to boost the schools’ effectiveness and attendance. ESL teachers are strategically placed to use their profession as way to take the message and presence of Christ into the marketplace.

MDE will work with the local team to identify ministry opportunities for the teacher that will work around availability and interest. Current opportunities include ESL at the church club, mentoring/coaching orphan graduates, assisting with camp ministries (summer), and more. Support needs include administrative support and bookkeeping in the team office.
Specific Qualifications:

-       Applicants should have a minimum of a bachelors in a field unrelated to teaching (a visa-related stipulation)

-       An additional certificate in TESL (preferably CELTA) is also required

-       Teaching experience is not a requirement. SBTC will provide training and teaching materials, as needed

-       MDE Membership

-       ESL teachers will take Russian classes on a part-time basis (5 hours/week)

Length of Term:

MDE has developed a partnership with SBTC to provide English speaking teachers for their courses. SBTC is in need of a teacher for the 2017-2018 academic school year. The contract period is September 1-May 31, with a possible extension through the end of June.  There are two positions available.
