To Save a Life

When you look back over the years, what comes to mind as a highlight?  We all have them.  Moments that challenged us and made an impact in God's Kingdom.  Here is a highlight from one of our teammates.  I hope you are encouraged by it and driven to pray for all the kids who struggle in the Far North.

“It was the best weekend of my life!” wrote Sarah* on her Facebook page. She was one of about 50 teens that attended a regional youth retreat hosted by our church. Our desire with this overnight event was to see a spiritual awakening amongst the youth.

The weekend kicked off with lasagna and a photo scavenger hunt. After some time of worship, the teens watched an amazing movie called To Save a Life. Before and after the movie my husband explained the gospel and posed the question, “What do you want your life to be about?” Afterwards, we broke into small groups to discuss the issues portrayed in the film.

The next morning, thanks to generous donors, the teens had a blast playing paintball; we know that this was a big draw for many of the kids. The retreat ended with more worship and a closing message from a pastor. We know there were quite a few kids who came who do not know the Lord. One of the girls from our discipleship group had a heart for her unsaved friends and was influential in bringing at least one girl we had not met before."
