There are all kinds of people with different interests, routines, jobs, and hobbies around the world. Our missionaries work to understand, interact, and connect with them in order to love them and share the gospel. Below you will find two images that are great examples of this.
You will also find a link to the profiles of the missionaries who captured the moments so that you can learn more about them and their ministry!

I took this picture while in Turkey for a conference. These men are sharing food together as they take a lunch break from fishing along the Marmara Sea in Istanbul. As a missionary, I see many different kinds of people in my travels. I do not know these men or the people of Turkey very well because I have not lived there, but I wonder: Do they know Jesus? Who will go to them, live alongside them, and share the gospel with them?

“Obaachans,” Japanese elderly ladies, take morning walks even in negative winter temperatures of the mostly snowless town, Yamada-machi. Their chattering in the Iwate dialect is a bit strange but music to my ears as I learn the heart language of these precious village locals. The Osawa Community of Yamada town is a fishing village with a history that dates to about 500 years ago. It has been one of the sites of devastation during the March 2011 triple-disaster (earthquake, tsunami, nuclear plant fall-out) of Northern Japan. It has a large elderly population. Five of these seven obaachans are widows, with some losing their husbands during the tsunami. Three of them are living alone. These walks follow Radio Taiso (exercises) every morning, except Sundays. Joining the Taiso and Sanpo (walks) has channeled and connected me to life in the Osawa community, where I live as a SEND missionary. They are now my tomodachi (friends) and continuing to pray for the gospel to be received by them.
