Rich and Ruth Ramirez joined SEND International in 2005 following his retirement from 32 years in federal law enforcement. He serves as the Director of Corporate Security, a position he has held since his retirement.

As Director of Corporate Security, Rich prepares people of all ages and nationalities to wisely engage in service to the Lord with boldness, legitimacy, and competence, to be as shrewd as serpents and as innocent as doves, while helping them see the cost of discipleship. He ensures the mission and its staff understand and receive training in the areas of safety, security, crisis management, and child protection. He also is responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, revision, and oversight of all policies relating to safety and security matters.

Rich also represents SEND as a founding member of the Child Safety and Protection Network (CSPN), preparing individuals to protect children from exploitation and abuse, and conducting investigations of abuse when requested.

As President of the Risk Management Network (RMN), Rich is committed to providing a proactive network for those charged with security responsibilities within the evangelical mission community for the purposes of professional development and standardization of training, critical security information exchange, and spiritual fellowship for those who are like-minded and share an affinity for reaching the lost world for Jesus Christ.

Rich also represents SEND as a steering committee member for the Faith Based Organizations Working Group (FBOWG) of the U.S. State Department, helping to create an atmosphere of trust and respect for religious workers worldwide while building capacity and resilience into the advancement of the Gospel so others may hear and live.
