We lived for 29 years in Alaska, where Scott was a contract weather observer for the Federal Aviation Administration and manager of a local utility. Sarah homeschooled our three children — Benjamin, Daniel, and Phoebe — which was and is a full-time job. We loved our little community and the people in it, enjoyed the Alaskan lifestyle, and thought it was where we would raise our family.

Then SEND's US Director called. He asked us to consider joining SEND as the Director of Development for the US Office. We pondered, we prayed, and we paused to seek God's direction. God moved, and so did we. In 2011, we packed up our lives and possessions in Alaska and moved to Michigan. Our life in suburban Michigan is very different than our life in Alaska. God has called us to serve Him here and it is exactly where we want to be.

As the Director of Development, Scott is responsible for the many different aspects of the Development Department, which include funding for US Operations and projects of SEND worldwide, Donor Relations, and Planned Giving. Scott has an excellent team that provides exceptional customer service to our missionaries and donors.

In 2012, we processed over 130,000 contributions from all over the United States. Our Planned Giving department provides many opportunities for non-cash giving to SEND through annuities, stocks, and estates. In 2013 we held the inaugural SEND Golf Classic, which helped raise awareness of SEND in southeast Michigan. Scott is also part of the US Executive Team, which provides leadership and direction for the US Office. Scott's ministry is vital to SEND International's purpose to mobilize missionaries, engage the unreached, and plant reproducing churches.

We have adapted well to life in suburban Michigan and are enjoying all the opportunities that living here provides. Sarah continues to homeschool our children and is passionate about preparing them for life — with a godly perspective — when they leave home. Benjamin has a servant's heart; he loves helping people through different opportunities at our church. Daniel has a great sense of humor, loves people, and enjoys working on the computer and perfecting his skills. Phoebe is the artistic one. She is a great photographer and is also trying her hand at watercolors. We love serving God through SEND and are excited to be part of this journey.

We need prayer and financial partners to continue this journey. Will you prayerfully consider becoming part of our ministry team? Your support will help bring the gospel to the unreached and plant churches where there are none.
