7 Jobs You Can Do as a Missionary

BECOMING A MISSIONARY
November 2023

If you can’t see yourself pastoring a church or working another church-related job, that doesn’t mean you can’t be a missionary. Whether you shine at the head of the classroom, feel at home on the soccer field, or bring out your best in business management, God has gifted you with skills that you can use to reach the unreached and take the gospel message to the world.

Here are just a few ways that you can use your God-given talents and passions on the mission field:

1) Baker/Barista

While brewing coffee and whipping up treats in SEND’s “Connections” café, share Christ as you develop relationships with guests and create a welcoming environment.

2) ESL Teacher

Serve as a bridge between the church and locals as you build relationships inside and outside of class and demonstrate God’s love.

3) Social Worker

Walk families through stressful life events, telling them the Good News as opportunities arise.

4) Sports Outreach Worker

Coach and participate in sports events with the goal of developing redemptive relationships.

5) Business Mentor

Demonstrate God’s love as you create job opportunities and train locals in business management and entrepreneurship.

6) Health and Medical Care Specialists

Build relationships and share Christ’s love while seeing patients and/or teaching locals public health principles.

7) Agricultural Trainer

Put your knowledge of agricultural techniques and/or animal husbandry to use by training locals, seeking opportunities to tell them about Jesus.

Not seeing anything that fits your gifting? Check out our Opportunities page for more ways to use your skills for the Gospel.

Take your next step on your missions journey. Whether it's giving, going, or sending, we’d love to talk with you about it and help you send the message of Jesus to the world!
