“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”
As a Land where less than 1% of the people who have a deep loving relationship with Jesus Christ Japan is currently facing the same situation as described in Romans 10:14.
In my teens, God gave me a general call to missions and after a couple of years of preparation, HE put a deep love for the Japanese people in my heart. 2017 I was able to go to Japan for an internship with SEND where I was able to see God at work, especially among Japanese high school students but also in some small churches and some personal relationships.
I met a lot of Japanese Christians who had a heart that was burning to reach out to their neighbors, friends, and classmates. At the same time, I met people who had never heard of Jesus nor had any contacts with Christians. Through both of these encounters, God confirmed his call in my life to go and support the local church in Japan but especially to reach out to those who don’t have any way to hear the good news yet, so that they can hear about, believe in and call out to Jesus Christ.
