After arriving at SEND in 2012, Lynn began to meet missionaries who insisted they were just like other believers. Many took great care to communicate that they are not “Super Saints” who have it “all together—all the time.”

They explained that missionaries have spiritual growth spurts and spiritual droughts. They struggle to manage the competing demands on their time. They suffer fear, have doubts, and sometimes wonder what exactly God is doing in their lives. They also desire to acquire spiritual formation tools they can use for their own spiritual growth and on the field in their ministries.

In response to SEND leadership’s desire to provide spiritual care for their missionaries, in 2017 the Women’s Ministry Department invited Lynn to serve as a Spiritual Care Coordinator. In this role, Lynn provides pastoral care for SEND women, which includes spiritual direction, mentoring, and discipling. She also facilitates and teaches workshops on spiritual formation in the USA and overseas as requested.
