As a kid growing up in South Dakota, Sara’s family hosted month-long foreign exchange students from Japan once every few years. It was through these initial connections with Japan and future trips for a vacation, as an exchange student herself, and eventually in 2019 as a short term missionary working in northern Japan that God really opened her eyes to the need for the Gospel to be shared in Japan. Sensing that the Lord was calling her to return to Japan to serve in ministry, she attended a two year Bible College in Minnesota and is now in the process of preparing to return to serve in Japan long-term with SEND International.
