My name is Isaac Odom, and I have a desire to serve the Lord through missions in Japan. I currently live in Lansing, Michigan with my family, and I am enrolled as a freshman at Lansing Community College. While my major is currently undecided, I plan on fitting my college experience to studies that will benefit me for missions cross-culturally. I also plan to minor in Japanese Language.

I first felt called by God to pursue missions during my senior year of high school. I knew I wanted to serve God, but I wasn't sure exactly where He was leading me, so I went with my church on a week-long trip to Tijuana, Mexico in 2022. We served for the week at a ministry called Mexico Caravan Ministries (MCM), which is a mobilizing ministry that focuses on meeting the physical needs of the people of Tijuana by building 12' by 16' houses and providing clothes and food. The ministry also taught me the importance of missions. I decided after I returned home to go back to Tijuana and serve as an intern at MCM for three months. During that time I was drawn to the need for the gospel in the country of Japan and after months of prayer, I began to take small steps with the help of my church to find opportunities to serve in Japan. Now, thanks to God, I plan on serving with SEND in Tokyo, Japan from mid-June to early August in the summer of 2025.
