In addition to local church ministry, Dr. Rick and Marilyn Perhai are deeply involved in education in Ukraine.
Rick’s main ministries have included professor of Bible and theology and Academic Dean at Kyiv Theological Seminary and adjunct professor at Talbot School of Theology-Kyiv Extension, a master’s-level program.
Marilyn’s ministry has touched the educational lives of hundreds of children. She started a Russian-language preschool and serves in various roles at Kyiv Christian Academy, an international school.
The Perhais desire to train nationals to take the gospel to places they could never go themselves. They aim to "work themselves out of a job" by training Ukrainians to fill their roles. Hence, Rick’s ministry emphasizes mentoring Ukrainians to teach and administrate at the seminary level.
The Lord has laid on Rick and Marilyn’s hearts a vision to develop a doctoral program in biblical theology to train Ukrainian pastor-theologians. This program would complete the missionary "exit plan," so that Ukrainian nationals can also teach at the master’s and doctoral levels in their own country.
The Perhai family has been involved in several church plants, most recently taking on a leadership role at Kyiv International Fellowship Church.
The Perhais have three children and a growing number of grandchildren.
