Shira Walker grew up in an American Christian household in Israel. She came to faith in Jesus at a young age while her parents worked with various local Christian organizations.

When in high school, Shira developed a love for Japanese culture and language. At 17 years, she went on her first visit to Japan and it served to help her better understand the need for the gospel there. She has visited Japan many times since, doing both volunteer work and as an international student. During that time, she discovered not only a love for youth ministry, but the need for it in the Japanese church community.

In 2019, Shira made the move from Israel to her parents hometown of San Diego, California where she serves in local international ministries. In 2022, she was led to join Send International to return to Japan for full time ministry work. Having a love for youth ministry and a heart for the lost, Shira hopes to return to Japan and share God’s message of hope and love with the next generation.
