Jim and Marissa have served in Alaska with SEND North since July 2008. Their first 7 years of ministry brought them to Naknek where they focused on aviation, youth, and pastoral ministries. In June 2015 they moved to Anchorage so that Jim could serve as Assistant Area Director. Due to unexpected leadership changes, Jim assumed the role of Area Director on October 1, 2016. As Area Director he oversees the church planting ministries in Alaska and Canada , as well as the Anchorage-based Logistics and Support Team.

Jim and Marissa have a passion for raising up the next generation of Christ followers through personal discipleship.

The Stambergs have two sons and one daughter: Dawson, Brennan, and Caralynne. As a family, they enjoy reading, eating ice cream, and exploring the Anchorage trails on bikes.
