Before I became CEO of SEND US, I worked with a Detroit-area homeless shelter. I’ve witnessed the struggle against drug addiction, which is why I am passionate about this rehabilitation camp a Thai pastor opened in the middle of a jungle.

The men and women seeking freedom from addiction at this camp come from the Shan people, an unreached group with Buddhist beliefs. We’ve been praying for years for a way to bring the gospel to the Shan. Now is the time, and this is the way.

At the rehab camp, men and women are trained in farming so they can support their families. They are transformed by the power of the gospel and can bring a message of redemption back to their people.

There’s no more room at this camp, yet several new people arrive every day. The pastor who runs it, himself a former addict, does not have the heart to send them away.
