SEND Thailand missionaries/workers are committed to teaming with local Thai partners in order to accomplish our vision of making disciples and establishing reproducing churches. This project aims to support national Thai workers who work with SEND Thailand in reaching unreached people groups (UPGs) in the country.
Local Christians who partner with us will often come from the UPGs we serve.
The Shan and Isaan peoples are typically very poor, and though we encourage local churches to support them, a large portion of their support will initially come from this project. N ational partners provide critical insight into the villages and ethnic peoples we are trying to reach. They help us ensure that our ministry is culturally, linguistically, and locally appropriate.
In the decade SEND Thailand has been in the country, we have already partnered with nationals both among the Isaan and Shan. We’ve supported at least 3 units through other projects, but we now need a central national partners project to focus solely on these workers and those joining our new pioneer teams.

Our national partners include evangelists/disciplers, experienced church-planters or local pastors all in direct partnership with SEND. They often lack the needed resources in the local church to provide for their needs and ministry.
There are many benefits to working closely with local believers:
- Expatriate missionaries gain so much knowledge and wisdom when learning first-hand from national partners. They will often be our mentors in learning local culture, politics, and social norms.
- They can open new villages for us simply because they are far less “foreign.” They can build bridges to local influencers or people of peace.
- National partners add momentum in evangelism, discipleship, and church-planting movements. They are often gifted in sharing the gospel with contextual bridges.
- They bring stability when SEND missionarie presence are disrupted by home service, emergency travel, TCK schooling priorities, and others inherent to cross-cultural workers.
We hope that you will support this project as we continue to work closely with our national partners. Consider giving $50-100 a month
to support Thai believers partnering with us in church planting and disciple making.
