Chinese Diaspora Ministry
Opportunity Overview:
SEND Canada is looking for people who speak Mandarin or Cantonese who are passionate about sharing the gospel. The Chinese Diaspora Ministry (CDM) has grown out from the 1990's when an evangelistic short-term mission (STM) team took the good news to Chinese merchants in Far East Russia (FER) and Siberia. Several STM teams followed and the vision has increased to other countries with the hope of leading many to Christ and turning them into long-term discipleship ministries.
Countries: Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Central and South America
Terms: Short-Term (2 weeks - 1 year), Mid-Term (1 - 3 years), Long-Term (3+ years)
Responsibilities:
- Visit diaspora Chinese, including foreign workers and students
- Evangelize those who have never heard the Good News
- Hold outreach meetings
- Disciple and teach those who have already believed
- Provide guidance to church leadership
- Assist in developing new churches
Qualifications:
- Able to speak Mandarin or Cantonese
- Track record of growing in your relationship with Jesus and ability to share your faith
- For mid-term and long term: Theological training and pastoral experience
