It’s A Marathon, Not A Sprint

Ministry in the Far North is a marathon, not a sprint.  This short update from one of our team members shows the result of a lot of prayer and many years of loving and serving in Northern Alaska.  We pray this encourages even more prayer for those in the Far North.

“For the last 3 years, we have seen the church grow numerically and spiritually.  Numerically, our attendance has grown from 15 to 40 people.  With this growth comes the pleasant problem of running out of sitting room in the 24 x 24 church.

Spiritually, we have seen growth through the people’s response to the challenge of giving by taking a monthly offering.  Some has gone to bills, to repairs, to new chairs and new windows in the church.  Some will go to additional songbooks.  But a highlight has been that some has gone to purchase food once a month for a meal in the Kids program that our son and staff help run.  This program takes place in a new church in the outskirts of Cancun, Mexico, at a squatter settlement.  Another highlight at this time of year is the church is again involved in Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse.  They are realizing the need to give and not just receive…and to give back to the Lord.”

Please continue to pray for all of our team members who love and serve in unique environments.
