Japan | Camp Facility and Grounds Manager
Opportunity Overview:
Okutama Bible Chalet (OBC) is a SEND Japan-owned and -operated Bible camp with a 62 year rich history of reaching Japanese and internationals with the gospel of Jesus Christ. OBC is in need of a Facility and Grounds Manager.
Countries: Japan
Terms: Long-Term (3+ years), Mid-Term (1 - 3 years), Short-Term (1-3 months)
Responsibilities:
- The Facility and Grounds Manager has the responsibility for oversight, care, and cleaning of the camp buildings and grounds. This includes basic maintenance and making sure that the rooms are ready to receive incoming guests.
- Other opportunities to help in practical ways that fit the gifts that God has given to the individual/couple.
- Foster fellowship between campers and camp staff, as well as give spiritual encouragement.
Qualifications:
- English required. Japanese helpful, but NOT required unless long-term (long-term service will begin with Japanese study)
- Gift of hospitality, friendly and welcoming, the willingness to serve
- Managerial skills – ability to work alongside others and often independently
- Basic maintenance skills
- Ability to be flexible
- Basic computer skills
- Good level of health and fitness for manual tasks
- The term of service can be as short as three months; for a term longer than three months, some requirements may be needed to acquire a religious activities visa.
