Terms: Long-Term (3+ years)
Responsibilities:
- Provide practical support to immigrants and refugees, helping them navigate medical care, education, finances, and transportation.
- Empower new neighbors to build self-sufficient lives by teaching essential life skills and fostering community integration.
- Join a team of dedicated individuals living internationally among immigrant families and offering holistic support.
- Train and coordinate local welcome teams ensuring effective service delivery to resettled families.
- Share the Good News and disciple new believers, fostering the spiritual growth of vibrant faith communities.
- Engage in intentional prayer for the immigrant community, seeking the Lord's guidance and discernment.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability in one or more of the following areas: Expertise in ESL, trauma-informed care certification, Bible storying, life coaching, and/or mentoring.
- Social work experience: Prior experience in social work, human services, or a related field, and applicable degrees are highly valued.
- Strong communication skills: Fluency in English and a willingness to learn additional languages as needed to serve the community effectively.
- Cultural competency: The ability to engage respectfully and build authentic relationships within diverse immigrant communities, demonstrating understanding of cultural nuances.
- Team-oriented collaborative spirit: A genuine desire to contribute to shared goals as part of an interdisciplinary team, openness to mentoring and providing coaching or training to colleagues as needed.
