NA Diaspora Japanese Affinity Group
Opportunity Overview:
SEND NA Diaspora's Japanese Affinity Group is looking for growing Christians with a heart for reaching Japanese families, business individuals and students, discipling them to reach other Japanese in North America and in Japan when they return home. Sensing that you are being led of the Lord and of the same heart for training others in spiritual disciplines, prayerfully connect with us in SEND's Japanese Affinity Group. We are presently located in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area, Denver, Colorado and Greenville, South Carolina, but we are seeking workers who can pioneer this ministry anywhere in the US or Canada, advised and prayed for by the other teams. Tasks:
- Introduce this strategy for reaching Japanese to your local church leadership and request their prayers.
- Join a Japanese America Association (fees vary by area) in your area to begin connections to their community.
- Volunteer, according to your gifting, to meet needs that Japanese in the community express. Tutoring Japanese children in English is one area. Inviting Japanese ladies to a monthly tea-time in your home or doing a craft or cooking session together is another area. (Businessmen's wives are especially open to these gatherings.)
- Connect with Christian college ministries (iFace and others) that have contact with Japanese students and offer your home as a gathering place for special occasions. (You must take a short training program to cooperate with most campus ministries like iFace.)
- Attend monthly Zoom meetings with other teams and individuals in this Affinity Group for encouragement and prayer.
Specific Qualifications:
- Japanese language to an intermediate level is preferred but not required.
- Willing to take online courses with an organization called Reaching Japanese for Christ before launching.
- Passionate about reaching Japanese families.

Our Local Vision: Through gospel presentations and practical support ministries for Japanese families, our vision is to see worshiping Japanese being added to Christ's local body in North America and walking in obedience here. Spiritually discipled and equipped, these Japanese families minister wherever the Lord sends them, even back to Japan to bless His people there.
