Anchorage | Property Manager and Handyman
Opportunity Overview:
SEND North is looking for a property manager to be based in Anchorage, Alaska. We are looking for someone who is skilled in the care of property and vehicles in northern climates and has a heart for stewardship and missionary care. This person will have the opportunity to oversee the facilities care of the Starr Center (our ministry center and office building), our six-plex guest house, our hangar, and our vehicles based in Anchorage. This person will also have the opportunity to travel throughout Alaska and northern Canada to care for additional SEND North-owned properties and missionary homes. Countries: Alaska / Northern Canada
Terms: Long-Term (3+ years), Mid-Term (1 - 3 years), Short-Term (2 weeks - 1 year)
Responsibilities:
• Personally make repairs and perform routine maintenance when able on buildings and cars
• Oversee repair work done by contract workers and volunteers
• Advise SEND North administrative staff on major property decisions and repair needs
• Assist with seasonal grounds care
• Travel to villages to maintain SEND North property as needed
• Travel to villages to provide assistance to SEND North missionaries with maintenance of personal property
• Work with the SEND North Logistics and Support team to provide general care to our SEND North missionaries through hospitality, encouragement, and other practical ways
Qualifications:
• Able to discern what projects need to be outsourced to companies or volunteers
• Able to manage multiple projects at one time
• Flexible
• A servant's heart who desires to see the Lord's resources well used
• Willing to travel occasionally throughout the year
• A team player
• A heart to see the gospel advanced through behind-the-scenes stewardship ministry
