Missionaries are called to go all over the world in order to deliver the good news of Jesus to those who have not heard. For many, that means their kids go too; entering into the life of a missionary kid. Below are two photos that capture a glimpse into missionary kid life. First place: Free Ride

With Covid moving further into the past I hear more and more adults talk about traveling for work and the challenges it brings. Airports, planes, taxis, hotels, car rentals, etc. are all a part of the gig for either dad or mom. But for missionary families, travel is a way of life. The airport is a common place for missionary kids to have family memories. Memories that have check-in counters, custom checkpoints, and security lines as their setting. Memories with storylines that rotate around cancelled flights or missing baggage, or the occasional misplaced ticket or passport. Not to mention the kiss and cry section of the airport - heart felt hellos and good-byes are the theme of many memories for missionary families. It is all part of the norm that is not so normal for the majority of kids on the planet. The comings and goings while exciting and enriching are also trying and draining and anything but common. Please, pray for MKs in their comings and goings and may they know that their home is in heaven, the ultimate destination.
Second place: Overlooking Tokyo Bay

My daughter, Anna, came home from college and came to Tokyo, so we did a tourist event of walking across Rainbow Bridge near Tokyo and Yokohama. We had just a magical time together as we walked across the Tokyo Bay. We walked across the bridge, went to a nice restaurant, and then walked back on the bridge. We saw the sunset and it was just so beautiful. I quickly snapped this picture of my daughter overlooking Tokyo Bay.
