Missionary photo contest 2020: MK winners

MISSIONARY LIFE
January 2021
What a year we’ve all experienced—and as our missionaries lived through it, many of them documented moments both momentous and mundane. Our SEND Missionary Photo Contest highlights these amazing images. These three images were submitted by the children of SEND missionaries in Europe.
A rickety bridge
First place: Our guide on shakey paths

Photo by Maya Irons, SEND Poland

After I took this photo, I was a little wary of walking across the bridge; it looked a little too rickety, and a fear of falling through the boards struck me. But, after taking it one step at a time, I made it to the other side, the lush, vibrantly green side that promised solid ground and sure-footed paths. I think we can take that as a metaphor for how Christians are growing in Poland: Through the hardships of the pandemic and everything else in between, they are trusting God to lead them through the rickety bridges of their lives towards the other side. I hope this picture can also bring the same comfort to those who look upon it; the rickety bridges of this life give way to fruitfulness and love.
Second place: The sun sets on our home

Photo by Benj Stout, SEND Croatia

This photo was taken from our old house in Skopje, Macedonia, where I lived my whole life before we moved to Croatia this past year. It shows how beautiful God’s work can be .

Third place: He is worthy

Photo by Isaiah Stout, SEND Croatia

My family and I moved to Croatia from Macedonia this past year. I just decided to take some photos of where I was, because nature reflects how much God is worthy of creating things.
